Holiday Outing - Change of Date

We will celebrate the holidays with our cameras on Sunday, December 10th by visiting Millennium Park and Maggie Daley Park. Let’s capture the joy of ice skaters on the skating ribbon in Maggie Daley Park and the ice rink in Millennium Park.  Chicago’s Christmas tree will be waiting for us in Millennium Park.  While we’re there, we can spend some time at “the Bean” sculpture” and discover any other holiday decor in the area.

We will meet at the Chicago Cultural Center on the Randolph side at 3:00 PM.  Sunset is at 4:19, so bring your tripod and cable release to capture the scene after sunset.  You might want to photograph the movement of the skaters with long exposures.  You can also photograph the lights of the Chicago skyscrapers during twilight. Those who want to take a walk can visit the Crown Fountain video monoliths or wander North on Michigan Avenue to the River.

Afterwards, we will follow our tradition of pizza at Giordano’s at 130 E. Randolph.  It’s in a courtyard that you can get to by walking east of N. Michigan Avenue on Lake Street.  We’ll meet for dinner at 5:30.
